I’m going to shift gears a little here.
Over the past month I’ve been deep in vision and mission work for the 1440 Health Collective – clarifying who we are, where we’re going, and what truly matters at the heart of our work. As I’ve been doing that, two things have become very clear to me about my own counseling practice:
So, I’ve made a small but meaningful shift in how I describe my role. I’m moving from the title spiritual counselor to Depth Counselor & Integrative Healing Practitioner.
Why the change?
Many people aren’t sure what “spiritual counseling” means and I want the language to feel more accessible and grounded.
For those who don’t know, I bring over 25 years of experience in manual therapy and body-based healing into this work. I’ve spent decades working alongside medical doctors, physical medicine specialists, and holistic practitioners, learning deeply about the body’s intelligence and its capacity to heal when the right conditions are created.
That experience is what led me into counseling work.
I began to see that physical pain, emotional patterns, and life struggles are rarely separate, they are deeply interconnected. So “integrative healing practitioner” reflects the way I weave body, mind, and soul together in the healing process.
And “Depth Counselor” speaks to how we work together – gently going beneath surface-level understanding to access deeper layers of awareness, insight, and transformation.
My absolute favorite part of this work is helping people reconnect with their own inner guidance.
I honestly get chills just writing that.
One of the first things I do with many clients is help them access a deeper inner perspective, a place within that feels wise, compassionate, and deeply supportive.
And every time I witness someone connect with this benevolent part of themselves, often experiencing a sense of love or support they may not have felt before – I feel a deep sense of awe.
I hold these moments with so much reverence.
It’s an incredible honor to watch someone realize that this source of clarity and wisdom isn’t coming from outside of them and it’s not coming from me.
It’s been there all along. It’s been that “knowing” or intuition I’m sure you’ve tapped into a time or two.
As my teacher often says, we are simply holding the door open for people to walk through.
Over the past few weeks, I’ve been deeply moved by how impactful these experiences can be.
Clients have said things like:
“I realize now I need to listen to that inner voice more, it helps me see things from a completely different perspective.”
“It’s overwhelming and beautiful to know this guide has been with me my whole life. I can see now how it’s helped me even when I wasn’t aware.”
Moments like these remind me why I do this work.
To witness people stepping courageously onto their healing path and to walk beside them as a steady presence is something I will never take lightly.
I’m beginning a new series of emails where I’ll be sharing more about the processes I use and how they help people create real change, especially if you’ve ever felt curious about deeper healing but weren’t quite sure what that meant or whether it was right for you.
Because at the heart of what I do is something very simple:
Helping you understand your relationship with yourself, and from there, transforming how you relate to everything else in your life.
If you’ve ever felt:
this work may be a supportive next step.
I offer complimentary discovery calls if you’re curious and want to explore whether working together feels aligned.
And if nothing else, I hope this gives you a clearer window into why I love what I do and why I believe so deeply in the power of turning inward.
